If you have questions about accessibility for any of our events, or you require further information, please contact info@disruptdisabilityartsfestival.ie
Audio Description for live performance is a live verbal commentary providing information on the visual elements of a production as it unfolds, from sets, props and costumes to actors’ facial expressions and movements across the stage. Audio-described performances are available on certain performances during the festival. If you require this service please let a member of staff know at reception as you will require an individual headset to avail of this service.
It is important for us to explore access requirements outside of performances and workshop contexts. As such, we will have an Audio Describer available during the social opportunities of the festival for individual support. We would kindly ask you to contact a member of the festival team if you would like to avail of these services during informal social times, and we will link you with the Audio Describer. These services will be limited so it may be necessary to wait for the providers to become available if they are engaged with other attendees.
Audio Description for the visual art exhibition includes a way finding guide and a visual description of each art work. It also includes useful information about the works which would otherwise be contained on the exhibition signage.
